A new chapter begins – with respect for the past and joy for what is to come.
In May 2025, the flagship store of Confiserie Honold was temporarily closed after 120 years at Rennweg 53. A small location, named Le Pavillon, will serve as a substitute during the complete renovation.
The complete renovation will last around two years. If nothing unforeseen occurs, the building is expected to be finished in the second quarter of 2027. As in earlier times, it will once again be a “mixed” property with retail spaces, offices, and apartments.
On the ground floor, Honold will return: where the original shop and refreshment room – later known as the Tea Room – were once located, a new shop with café will take shape.
In the basement, the staff room, the Confiserie Honold production kitchen, and the technical facilities will be located. On the first floor, office spaces and the café’s restrooms will be found. From the second floor upwards, as originally designed, flats will once again be built – bringing new life to the building.

Honold at Rennweg 53 is closed but still furnished on May 16. On this day, Le Pavillon will be put into operation and we will celebrate the farewell to the Motherhouse with former Honold residents.
