Description

Kirschstängeli with No. 4 morello cherries sour cherry from the Humbel distillery. From the 2000 different types of cherry in Switzerland, kirsch is typically made from a mixture of different cherry varieties. No. 4 morello cherry sour cherry is completely different: just as our Grand Cru chocolates are pure cocoa, this kirsch is distilled from a single cherry variety – the morello cherry, a brown sour cherry. The stone of the cherry is rough and gives the distillate its typical stone and bitter almond aromas. The bouquet is dominated by notes of cinnamon and marzipan, reminiscent of amaretti. The long finish rounds off the pleasure with a gentle honey flavour. Humbel’s cherry innovation meets Honold’s confectionery art – a unique interplay!
